Remote Senior Cloud Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Remote Senior Cloud Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of their next-generation cloud networking infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud network solutions across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal resource utilization. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in cloud technologies and a passion for building resilient, future-proof networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable network architectures on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Develop strategies for hybrid and multi-cloud networking, including connectivity, routing, and security.

• Define network standards, best practices, and automation frameworks for cloud environments.

• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues within cloud environments.

• Evaluate and recommend new cloud networking technologies and services to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture, with a significant focus on cloud networking.

• Deep expertise in designing and managing networks in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including VPC, VNet, and inter-cloud connectivity.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.

• Experience with container networking (e.g., Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
