About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their innovative team, working remotely. This role will focus on leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from complex mining datasets. You will play a key part in developing predictive models for ore grade, equipment performance, and operational efficiency, driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models for prediction, classification, and optimization tasks in a mining context.
- Analyze large datasets from various sources, including geological, operational, and sensor data.
- Collaborate with domain experts to identify key business challenges and opportunities for data-driven solutions.
- Design and implement A/B tests and experiments to evaluate model performance and business impact.
- Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data science and machine learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong experience with SQL and database technologies.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and data visualization techniques.
