About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations in Richards Bay . This position is crucial for enhancing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports their cutting-edge software applications. You will be instrumental in automating deployment pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of their systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote work environment, is passionate about automation, and possesses a strong understanding of CI/CD principles and cloud technologies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage automated CI/CD pipelines for software deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Maintain and scale cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and rapid issue resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and ensure smooth deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across all environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role, with a strong emphasis on automation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote-first role supporting clients in Richards Bay .
