Remote Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations initially linked to Port Elizabeth. This role is vital for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all financial reporting across the organization. You will play a key role in managing financial close processes, analyzing financial data, and supporting strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements adhering to IFRS.
• Manage the end-to-end financial close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform complex reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing required financial information.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting designation (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting.
• Proficiency with major accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment.
