About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join their remote team, supporting investment strategy and financial planning for their mining portfolio, with key liaison for their Sandton -based finance department. This role involves in-depth financial modeling, investment appraisal, and strategic analysis to support decision-making on major mining projects and acquisitions. You will play a crucial part in evaluating the financial viability of new opportunities and managing the financial performance of existing assets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial professional with specific experience in the mining and resources sector , comfortable working independently in a fully remote capacity .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complex financial models to support investment appraisals, M&A activities, and strategic planning.
• Analyze financial performance of mining assets, identify key drivers, and recommend performance improvements.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for executive management and stakeholders.
• Conduct market research and economic analysis to assess the viability of new mining projects and territories.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors on financial due diligence.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, commodity prices, and regulatory changes impacting mining investments.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field; CFA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or investment banking, with a significant focus on the mining and metals industry .
• Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and scenario analysis.
• Proficiency in financial analysis software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of mining project economics and capital markets.
