Remote Senior Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Controller to join their finance department. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while overseeing critical financial operations. You will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and driving improvements in financial processes and controls. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to financial management, contributing significantly to the company's financial health from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance and accounting functions.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a remote team effectively.
