About the Role
Our client is seeking an exceptional Remote Senior Legal Counsel with a specialization in Contracts to join their expanding legal department. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of complex commercial contracts, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with business objectives. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented lawyer who can effectively manage diverse contractual risks and collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders across various departments and time zones, all within a remote-first operational framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, software licenses, and partnership agreements.
- Provide strategic legal advice on contractual terms, risks, and mitigation strategies to business teams.
- Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Stay abreast of legal developments impacting contract law and advise the business accordingly.
