Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer - Dynamics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in dynamics and vibration analysis to support their projects originating from Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical principles applied to dynamic systems, enabling the design and validation of components and structures subjected to complex motion and forces. You will work independently and collaboratively with a globally distributed team, contributing to the development of high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced dynamic analysis, including modal, transient, and harmonic response simulations, on mechanical components and systems.
• Design mechanical systems and components optimized for vibration resistance, shock mitigation, and acoustic performance.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate dynamic behavior and compare with simulation results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements related to dynamic performance and structural integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to vibration, shock, and acoustics in mechanical designs.
• Document analysis methodologies, results, and design recommendations clearly and concisely for a remote audience.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Dynamics or Vibration.
• 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong emphasis on dynamics analysis.
• Expertise in vibration testing , modal analysis, and structural dynamics.
• Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., Abaqus, NASTRAN) and MATLAB/Simulink for dynamic simulations.
• Experience designing components and systems for challenging dynamic environments.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote setting.
