Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, adhering to strict remote deployment guidelines.
• Perform regular diagnostic tests and system audits to identify potential issues and implement proactive solutions to ensure network stability and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems, providing timely and effective resolutions, and documenting all troubleshooting steps and outcomes meticulously.
• Develop and implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats, including VPN configuration and access control management.
• Monitor network performance metrics, analyze traffic patterns, and recommend optimizations for enhanced efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with other IT systems and support new technology rollouts.
• Stay abreast of emerging network technologies and industry best practices, evaluating and recommending new solutions for adoption.
• Provide remote technical support to end-users and internal teams, escalating issues as necessary to senior engineers or vendors.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and asset inventories.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required, ensuring 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Technician or similar role, with a strong emphasis on remote infrastructure management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
• Hands-on experience with network security devices such as firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco ASA) and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG) and performance analysis techniques.
• Experience with virtual networking technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues remotely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent practical experience are highly desirable.
• A dedicated, quiet home office space with a reliable high-speed internet connection is mandatory for this remote position.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
