Remote Senior Power Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their distributed engineering team, working entirely remotely. This role is critical in the planning, design, analysis, and optimization of complex power grids and electrical infrastructure for clients across various sectors. You will leverage your deep expertise in power system dynamics, protection, and stability to deliver innovative and reliable solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power system studies , including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and harmonic analysis.
• Design and specify high-voltage equipment, substations, and transmission/distribution networks.
• Develop and implement protection schemes and settings for power systems.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on grid integration for renewable energy sources.
• Collaborate with remote teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Power Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems engineering.
• Advanced proficiency with power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSCAD).
• Strong knowledge of grid codes, protection relays, and power system stability concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative setting.
