Remote Senior Process Automation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Automation Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated automation systems that optimize our chemical manufacturing processes. You will leverage your expertise in control systems, PLC programming, and data integration to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety across our operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly proficient in automation technologies, and adept at collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and configure advanced process control systems (DCS/PLC) for chemical plants.
• Develop and maintain automation software, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
• Implement data acquisition and analysis solutions to monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators globally to troubleshoot automation issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards and cybersecurity best practices.
• Lead projects for the integration of new automation technologies and upgrades to existing systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process automation engineering within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency with major DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Honeywell).
• Strong understanding of control theory, instrumentation, and SCADA systems .
• Experience with scripting languages and data analysis tools is a plus.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
