Remote Senior Process Development Engineer

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Process Development Engineer to join their fully remote team, based remotely with a focus on the Cape Town area. In this critical role, you will spearhead the development and scaling of novel chemical processes from laboratory concept to pilot plant and commercial production. You will work closely with research scientists and engineers to translate innovative ideas into robust, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of experiments for process development and optimization in a remote setting .
• Develop and validate new chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes.
• Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to predict process behavior and identify scale-up challenges.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, data analysis, and recommendations for process implementation.
• Collaborate effectively with global R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams through virtual platforms.
• Ensure all process development activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process development and scale-up.
• Proven expertise in laboratory experimentation, pilot plant operations, and chemical process design.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical design of experiments (DoE).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote capacity.
