Remote Senior Process Optimization Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Process Optimization Engineer for a fully remote position. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement across their global chemical manufacturing operations by leveraging data analytics and advanced process control strategies. You will work closely with site-based engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, enhance process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong aptitude for data analysis, simulation, and implementing optimization solutions within a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement advanced process control (APC) strategies and optimization models.
• Collaborate with site engineers to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement solutions remotely.
• Utilize process simulation tools to model and test optimization scenarios.
• Develop and maintain performance monitoring dashboards and reports for global operations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel on process optimization techniques.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in process engineering with a focus on optimization and advanced control.
• Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and optimization tools.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in statistical software or programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
• Experience implementing APC solutions in industrial settings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, supporting teams across various locations including Polokwane .
