About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Senior Process Safety Engineer for a fully remote position. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced process safety strategies and management systems across our global operations. This position requires a deep understanding of industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of safety in our chemical processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive experience in risk assessment and mitigation, eager to drive safety initiatives from a remote setting and make a significant impact on our safety culture worldwide, championing the protection of personnel, assets, and the environment through robust safety engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of global Process Safety Management (PSM) frameworks.
- Oversee and conduct high-level Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for complex chemical processes.
- Develop and implement comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert guidance on process safety regulations, standards, and compliance.
- Investigate major safety incidents and develop effective corrective and preventative action plans.
- Mentor and guide junior process safety engineers and site safety teams remotely.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process safety engineering, with significant experience in the chemical industry.
- Expertise in conducting various types of PHAs and developing robust safety cases.
- In-depth knowledge of international process safety standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso III).
- Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence stakeholders across different organizational levels.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for a remote work environment.
