Remote Senior Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced and self-motivated Remote Senior Project Engineer to provide crucial technical leadership and support for their construction projects, predominantly located in the Eastern Cape but managed from a distance. This position is critical for overseeing the technical aspects of projects, ensuring engineering integrity, quality control, and adherence to design specifications. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate closely with on-site teams, project managers, and design consultants to resolve technical challenges, optimize construction processes, and ensure the successful and efficient delivery of complex engineering and construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance and oversight on engineering aspects of construction projects from a remote location.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with site engineers and construction managers to address technical queries and resolve on-site issues promptly.
• Ensure quality control and assurance processes are rigorously followed, monitoring adherence to specifications and standards.
• Assist in the planning and scheduling of technical activities and resource allocation.
• Contribute to project risk management by identifying potential technical challenges and proposing solutions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar engineering role within the construction industry.
• Strong background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, with proven project execution experience.
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and quality control principles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional remote communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• BEng or BSc in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical) or a related discipline.
