About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting projects globally, including those relevant to the Randburg area. This role is pivotal in developing and utilizing advanced reservoir simulation models to predict fluid flow, optimize production strategies, and evaluate field development plans. You will collaborate closely with geoscientists and production engineers to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and enhance asset value within the Oil & Gas sector. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled engineer to work independently from their home office, contributing high-level expertise to critical projects and enjoying substantial flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate, and maintain complex 3D reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software.
• Run simulations to forecast production profiles, evaluate various recovery scenarios, and assess field performance.
• Analyze simulation results and provide clear, concise recommendations for production optimization and development strategies.
• Collaborate remotely with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to integrate data and assumptions into models.
• Perform sensitivity studies and uncertainty analyses to quantify risks and improve decision-making.
• Document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and results comprehensively.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience in reservoir simulation within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Expert proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, STARS).
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and numerical methods.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills tailored for remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple simulation projects effectively.
