Remote Senior UX/UI Designer - E-commerce Platforms

About the Role

Our client is a leading innovator in the e-commerce space and is looking for a talented Remote Senior UX/UI Designer to join their distributed team, servicing clients globally from their operational base near Mossel Bay . You will be instrumental in crafting intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user experiences for a range of online retail platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to translate complex user needs into elegant design solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and marketers to create seamless digital journeys that drive conversion and customer satisfaction in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from concept to execution, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile e-commerce applications.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and style guides to ensure brand consistency and scalability across all platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user requirements, product features, and user flows.
• Champion user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the organization.
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in UX/UI design, e-commerce, and digital product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing e-commerce projects.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user research methodologies , information architecture, and interaction design.
• Experience designing for responsive web and mobile applications, with a focus on conversion optimization.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, adept at working within a remote team environment.
