Remote Senior VFX Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior VFX Artist to join their fully remote development team, contributing to groundbreaking projects. You will be responsible for creating visually stunning and technically proficient visual effects that enhance gameplay and cinematic sequences. This role demands exceptional artistic skill, a deep understanding of real-time VFX pipelines, and the ability to work independently within a distributed team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about creating breathtaking visual experiences and can collaborate effectively with art directors and engineers to bring imaginative worlds to life from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality visual effects (explosions, magic, environmental effects, etc.) for real-time applications.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance across various platforms while maintaining visual fidelity.
• Collaborate with art directors and technical artists to establish and maintain VFX art style and quality standards.
• Develop and document VFX creation workflows and best practices for the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VFX implementation and performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a VFX Artist in the gaming or film industry, with a strong portfolio of real-time effects.
• Proficiency with VFX creation tools such as Houdini, EmberGen, Niagara, or similar software.
• Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, including their VFX systems.
• Strong understanding of particle systems, shaders, and material creation for visual effects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
