Remote Senior VoIP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Remote Senior VoIP Engineer to play a key role in managing and optimizing their Voice over IP infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our global VoIP systems, ensuring high availability and excellent call quality for all users. This role requires a deep technical understanding of VoIP protocols, telephony systems, and network infrastructure, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering exceptional service remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and resilient VoIP infrastructure, including PBX, SIP trunks, and gateways.
• Monitor VoIP system performance, identify issues, and implement timely resolutions to ensure optimal call quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex voice network problems, analyzing call detail records and network traffic.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to integrate VoIP solutions with other enterprise systems.
• Provide expert-level support and guidance on VoIP technologies and best practices to internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in VoIP engineering and telephony systems.
• Strong expertise in SIP, RTP, H.323, and other relevant VoIP protocols.
• Proficiency with leading VoIP platforms and UC solutions (e.g., Cisco, Asterisk, Microsoft Teams Voice).
• Solid understanding of IP networking, QoS, and firewall configurations for voice traffic.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
