Remote Senior VoIP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior VoIP Engineer to join their globally distributed team, working remotely from anywhere. This position is crucial for designing, implementing, and supporting our advanced Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure, ensuring seamless and high-quality voice communication services for our international customer base. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain scalable and resilient VoIP networks and systems, including PBX, gateways, and SBCs.
• Monitor VoIP infrastructure performance, troubleshoot call quality issues, and implement solutions for optimal user experience.
• Develop and document network configurations, best practices, and disaster recovery plans for VoIP services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VoIP solutions with other business applications and systems.
• Manage and upgrade VoIP hardware and software components, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex VoIP-related incidents and requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with VoIP technologies , SIP protocol, and related standards.
• In-depth knowledge of PBX systems (e.g., Asterisk, FreeSWITCH) and Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
• Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and QoS.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote work environment .
• Strong understanding of audio codecs and troubleshooting techniques for voice quality issues.
