Remote Soil Scientist - Environmental Monitoring

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Soil Scientist to join their environmental consulting team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to critical soil health and environmental monitoring projects from anywhere. You will analyze soil data, develop reports, and provide expert recommendations on soil remediation, land use planning, and sustainable agricultural practices. This role is ideal for a scientist who excels at data interpretation, possesses strong communication skills, and is passionate about environmental stewardship and sustainable land management, working independently within a collaborative virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze soil samples and data (physical, chemical, biological properties) to assess soil health, fertility, and environmental impact.
• Develop comprehensive soil analysis reports, including interpretations and recommendations for sustainable management practices.
• Provide expert consultation on soil remediation strategies, land rehabilitation, and conservation efforts.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other scientists remotely to define project scope and deliverables.
• Research and stay updated on the latest advancements in soil science , environmental regulations, and sustainable land use planning.
• Contribute to the development of new methodologies and protocols for soil assessment and monitoring.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Geology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in soil analysis , interpretation, and reporting, preferably with an environmental or agricultural focus.
• Proficiency in using laboratory analysis techniques and interpreting results.
• Strong understanding of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and their interactions with ecosystems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work setting.
• Excellent technical writing and data visualization skills.
