About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking energy solutions provider, is seeking a talented Remote Solar Energy Systems Designer to join their fully remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and engineering optimal solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across South Africa . You will leverage cutting-edge software to create detailed system designs, performance simulations, and component specifications, ensuring maximum energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

• Design residential, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems using specialized design software (e.g., Helioscope, Aurora Solar).
• Conduct site assessments (based on provided data) and system performance simulations to optimize energy output.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, electrical schematics, and installation guides.
• Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting hardware, and other system components.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, electrical standards, and South African regulations.
• Provide technical support to installation teams and answer client inquiries regarding system design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing solar PV systems .
• Proficiency with industry-standard solar design and simulation software.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, solar technology , and component specifications.
• Knowledge of South African electrical regulations and grid-tie requirements.
• Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
