Remote Solar Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Solar Farm Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their solar energy facilities. This is a fully remote position, requiring you to manage a distributed team and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of multiple solar farms. You will be responsible for maximizing energy output, managing maintenance schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and controlling operational costs. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise in solar PV operations, and excellent remote management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational performance of multiple solar farms, ensuring maximum energy generation and grid uptime.
• Manage and mentor remote operations and maintenance teams, setting clear performance expectations and providing support.
• Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies, including preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as energy yield, availability, and operational expenses, taking corrective action as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across all sites.
• Manage relationships with service providers, component suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations and maintenance of large-scale solar power plants.
• Demonstrated experience in managing remote teams and distributed operations.
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV technology, inverters, monitoring systems, and performance diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of O&M best practices, contract management, and financial oversight of operational budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, suitable for a remote leadership role.
