About the Role

This role is integral to evaluating and understanding subsurface geological formations, playing a crucial part in identifying and assessing potential hydrocarbon resources. Working entirely from a remote location, you will leverage cutting-edge technology and data analytics to interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret geological data, including seismic surveys, well logs, core samples, and outcrop data.

• Develop detailed geological models and maps of subsurface reservoirs.

• Evaluate hydrocarbon potential and associated risks for exploration and development projects.

• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and other subsurface professionals in a virtual team setting.

• Contribute to the planning and execution of geological field programs and data acquisition strategies.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration opportunities.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in exploration geology within the Oil & Gas industry .

• Proficiency with geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and data analysis tools.

• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and basin analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment, managing time and tasks efficiently.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for virtual team interactions, supporting operations that may be located near Pretoria or other key company sites.
