Remote Subsurface Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Subsurface Geoscientist to contribute to their exploration and development efforts in the oil and gas sector. This role, fully remote, will focus on interpreting complex geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate subsurface prospects. You will leverage cutting-edge technology and collaborate with global teams to deliver critical insights that guide drilling decisions and field development strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical aptitude and extensive experience in subsurface characterization from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic data (2D/3D), well logs, and other geophysical datasets to identify geological structures and stratigraphic traps.
• Perform reservoir characterization, including mapping reservoir properties, identifying facies, and assessing fluid content.
• Integrate geological and engineering data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Evaluate exploration and development opportunities, providing quantitative assessments of resources and risks.
• Collaborate with team members remotely, contributing to integrated subsurface studies and play fairway analyses.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in geoscience and apply them to enhance interpretations and workflows.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in subsurface geoscience , with a proven track record in oil and gas exploration or development.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software for seismic interpretation (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and well log analysis.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petrophysics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data synthesis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
