Remote Support Engineer - Installation & Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Support Engineer to join their expanding technical team, supporting clients across various regions, including those in and around Stellenbosch . This position focuses on providing remote assistance for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of complex systems and equipment. You will leverage your technical expertise to guide clients through troubleshooting processes, diagnose issues virtually, and provide solutions that ensure optimal system performance. This remote-first role offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on customer success through expert virtual support and proactive issue resolution for our client's diverse technology offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for the installation and setup of company products and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by clients via phone, email, or remote access tools.
• Develop and deliver clear, step-by-step guidance for clients performing maintenance or upgrades.
• Document support interactions, resolutions, and recurring issues in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with field technicians and engineering teams to resolve complex client problems.
• Create and update knowledge base articles and support documentation for common issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical support or field service role, with a strong understanding of Installation & Maintenance principles.
• Excellent remote troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide users effectively.
• Proficiency with remote desktop software and common diagnostic tools.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new products and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear technical explanations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
