Remote Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Remote Tax Accountant to join their established finance team. Operating fully remotely, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant tax legislation across various jurisdictions and managing the company's tax obligations effectively. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex tax matters from a distance. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all necessary tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and provisional tax.

• Conduct tax research and provide advice on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and advise the business accordingly.

• Manage tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities efficiently.

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.

• Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in the financial statements.

Requirements

• BCom or equivalent degree with a specialization in Taxation.

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in corporate tax.

• In-depth knowledge of South African tax laws and CIPC regulations.

• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.

• Proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced Excel skills.
