About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Remote Technical Artist to join their fully remote development team. You will bridge the gap between art and technology, optimizing art assets and workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery within project constraints. This role requires a deep understanding of art pipelines, scripting, shaders, and performance optimization, all within a distributed team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize art pipelines, tools, and workflows for 3D asset creation and integration.
- Create and implement shaders, materials, and visual effects that meet artistic and technical requirements.
- Optimize game assets (models, textures, animations) for performance across target platforms.
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and find innovative solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for art pipelines and tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Painter).
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including their respective pipelines and tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, MEL, or C# for tool development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in a remote setting.
