Remote Technical Specialist - Network Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Technical Specialist specializing in Network Infrastructure to support their operations, with a focus on clients in the Mahikeng, North West area. This role is entirely remote and requires the ability to provide expert-level remote support for the installation, configuration, and ongoing management of complex network systems. You will collaborate with on-site teams, guide them through intricate network deployments, perform remote diagnostics, and ensure the stability and security of client networks. The ideal candidate is a seasoned network professional with excellent remote communication capabilities and a deep understanding of network architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert remote technical guidance and support for the installation and configuration of network infrastructure components.
• Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.
• Collaborate effectively with on-site field technicians, providing clear instructions and support via remote channels.
• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues or optimization opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with network security policies and best practices during all remote operations.
• Stay abreast of new networking technologies and trends to continuously improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or technical support, with a strong emphasis on remote operations.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and network management systems .
• Excellent remote communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
