Remote Telecom Network Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Remote Telecom Network Security Specialist to join their dedicated security team. This fully remote position is critical for safeguarding our client's telecommunications infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect network integrity, data confidentiality, and service availability. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in network security principles, threat intelligence, and incident response within a complex telecom environment. You will work independently and collaboratively with a globally distributed team to maintain the highest security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust security strategies and policies for the telecom network.
• Configure and manage firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDPS), VPNs, and other security devices.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches, anomalies, and policy violations.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities relevant to the telecom industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in network security, with a significant focus on telecommunications networks.
• Proven expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, cryptography, and security best practices.
• Experience with security incident response and forensic analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote setting.
