About the Role
Our client seeks a visionary Remote Telecom Solutions Architect to lead the design and evolution of their robust telecommunications infrastructure. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for defining the technical strategy, architectural blueprints, and implementation plans for our next-generation network services. This is a critical position for driving innovation and ensuring our solutions meet the growing demands of our customer base, particularly for those residing in or serving areas like Tembisa . You will collaborate with product management, engineering teams, and external partners to deliver scalable and resilient telecom solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end telecom solutions, covering mobile, fixed-line, and converged services.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendors to meet business and technical requirements.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, roadmaps, and proof-of-concept implementations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and deployment teams during the implementation phase.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance analyses for proposed solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable technical designs.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in telecommunications architecture and design.
- Deep understanding of 4G/5G, SDN/NFV, cloud-native principles, and VoIP technologies.
- Proven ability to architect complex, scalable, and secure telecom systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a remote, distributed team environment.
