Remote Telecommunications Installer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Remote Telecommunications Installer to join their fully remote technical team. In this role, you will provide expert remote guidance and support for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems, including VoIP, PBX, and related infrastructure, all from your home office. You will collaborate with field technicians and clients to ensure successful deployments and optimal system performance. This position is ideal for an experienced telecommunications professional who excels in a remote work environment, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality service, supporting clients nationwide from Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical assistance and supervision for the installation of telecommunication equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to voice and data transmission, including PBX and VoIP systems.
• Guide on-site personnel through complex configuration and testing procedures.
• Develop and update technical documentation, including installation manuals and troubleshooting guides.
• Monitor system performance remotely and recommend optimizations for clarity and reliability.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior technical staff and collaborate on solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance, with a strong remote support component.
• In-depth knowledge of PBX systems, VoIP technologies, and digital/analog telephony.
• Familiarity with network protocols relevant to telecommunications (SIP, H.323).
• Excellent remote troubleshooting skills and proficiency with diagnostic tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for effective remote interaction.
• Relevant certifications in telecommunications or networking are a plus.
