Remote Telecommunications Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Remote Telecommunications Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure from anywhere. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise without the need for relocation. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our client's network systems, ensuring high availability and performance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly organized, and possesses excellent technical skills in managing diverse network environments, supporting our operations that may include Nelspruit based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the company's network infrastructure.
• Respond to and resolve network incidents and performance issues in a timely manner.
• Implement network changes, upgrades, and patches following established procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on telecommunications networks.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching, and network security principles.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and network management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
