Remote Telecommunications Network Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote Telecommunications Network Planner to join their expanding team. This role is crucial for designing the future of their network infrastructure, focusing on the strategic planning and development of new telecommunications systems and upgrades, all managed from a remote setting. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive network plans, optimizing layouts, and ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the efficient and effective expansion of services. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, collaborating with teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan new telecommunications network infrastructure , including fiber optic, wireless, and other connectivity solutions.
• Develop detailed network diagrams, route maps, and technical documentation using specialized planning software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments (remotely or virtually where possible) to determine optimal network layouts.
• Ensure all network plans comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with field deployment teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of planned networks.
• Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance network planning processes.

Requirements

• Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications network planning, design, or engineering.
• Proficiency with network planning software, GIS tools, and CAD applications.
• Strong understanding of various telecommunications technologies, including fiber optics, cellular networks (4G/5G), and IP networking.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fully remote environment, contributing effectively from locations such as Polokwane .
