Remote Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Telecoms Field Technician to provide essential on-site support for their network infrastructure across various locations, while primarily managing operations remotely. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues at customer premises, ensuring the smooth operation of telecommunication services. While the role is remote-first in terms of coordination and reporting, it requires frequent travel to client sites in and around the George region. You will be instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction by delivering prompt and effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs of telecommunications equipment at client sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to network connectivity and service delivery.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan and implement network upgrades or new installations.
• Document all service calls, technical findings, and resolutions accurately in the company's CRM system.
• Communicate effectively with the remote support team and customers to provide timely updates and support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or in a similar technical support role within the telecom industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems , including fiber optics, DSL, and wireless technologies.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and hand tools required for equipment installation and repair.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel frequently as required.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
