Remote Telecoms Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Telecoms Network Administrator to oversee and manage their extensive network infrastructure. Based remotely, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of our client's telecommunications systems, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. This role requires a proactive approach to network management, strong analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of network protocols and security. You will work closely with IT and engineering teams to implement network enhancements and resolve complex technical challenges, playing a vital role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our client's critical communication services from your remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including configuration files and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on network design, upgrades, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration within a telecommunications environment.
• Proficiency in network configuration and troubleshooting for Cisco, Juniper, or similar network devices.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and performance analysis.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills are essential for this role.
