Remote Telecoms Network Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Remote Telecoms Network Security Specialist to safeguard their critical network infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect against cyber threats. You will work collaboratively with network operations and engineering teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our telecommunications systems. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement network security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security appliances.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of the network infrastructure.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, developing remediation plans and implementing necessary countermeasures.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities relevant to telecommunications networks.
• Provide security awareness training to technical staff and contribute to security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in network security, specifically within the telecommunications sector.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and common attack vectors.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to work independently in a remote capacity.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
