Remote Transportation Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and analytical Remote Transportation Planner to optimize their logistics network. Working from home, you will be responsible for designing efficient transportation routes, selecting appropriate carriers, and managing the overall flow of goods to meet delivery targets and cost objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of transportation economics, route optimization techniques, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our client's supply chain operates smoothly and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized transportation plans for domestic and international shipments.
• Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Select and manage relationships with transportation carriers , negotiating rates and service level agreements.
• Utilize routing software to create the most efficient delivery routes, considering factors like time, cost, and driver availability.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any disruptions or delays.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of transportation plans.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation planning or logistics.
• Proficiency in using route optimization software and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex logistics data.
• Excellent understanding of various transportation modes and carrier operations.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment , manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
