Role Description
The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and engaging volunteers who contribute to CMRDI's programs and initiatives.
This position coordinates volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling, ensuring that volunteers are matched with appropriate tasks and have clear guidance. The coordinator designs and delivers training materials, maintains up-to-date volunteer records, and supports volunteers through regular communication and feedback.
Day-to-day activities include planning outreach campaigns, fostering relationships with partner organizations and communities, and promoting volunteer opportunities aligned with CMRDI's mission.
The role also involves monitoring volunteer participation, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with staff to integrate volunteer contributions into ongoing projects.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong volunteer management and volunteer training skills to effectively recruit, onboard, and support volunteers.
• Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust, provide clear guidance, and maintain positive volunteer relationships.
• Candidates should possess community outreach and stakeholder engagement skills to promote volunteer opportunities and collaborate with external partners.
• Candidates should have organizational and time management skills to coordinate schedules, manage records, and prioritize multiple volunteer initiatives.
• Candidates should be comfortable working remotely, using digital tools for coordination, and demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in nonprofit, research, or community-based organizations, and relevant education in social sciences, management, or a related field, is beneficial.
