What you'll actually be doing
• Building and maintaining market data + exchange connectivity to crypto exchanges
• Developing and extending live trading algorithms
• Optimising the trading system for micros/nanos — not a KPI, a religion
• Leading technical initiatives end to end, requirements through deployment
• Working across teams without being precious about your code
What you need to bring
• 8+ years in C++ (10+ total software development experience)
• Proven form in high-load, low-latency systems, not "worked near one," actually built one
• Strong grip on design patterns, data structures, algorithms
• Network protocol fluency, Websockets/FIX/Kafka exposure is a bonus, not a blocker
• Financial markets or HFT background; trading strategy dev experience is a nice-to-have
• Debugging instincts sharp enough to hunt down the nasty, intermittent, "only happens in prod" bugs
• Comfortable leading, either now or ready to grow into leading a distributed team
• System-level or network performance tuning chops
• An appetite for eventually leading a remote-friendly dev team
