They’re now seeking a Lead PHP Developer with a strong focus on API architecture and backend systems to join their fully remote UK-based engineering team. You’ll collaborate closely with product, DevOps, and frontend teams to ensure the platform remains scalable, secure, and future-proof.
What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience leading backend/API development using PHP and Laravel
• Expertise in RESTful API design, versioning, authentication, and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with asynchronous processing, caching, and queue systems (e.g., Redis, Horizon)
• Solid understanding of modern development practices — Git workflows, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate in a fully remote team environment
• Experience with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Background in fintech, SaaS, or payment systems
