About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Bioinformatician to join their fully remote research team. This role will focus on the development and application of computational tools and algorithms to analyze large-scale biological datasets, particularly in the fields of genomics and transcriptomics. You will play a crucial part in uncovering biological insights that drive drug discovery and personalized medicine initiatives. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a global network of scientists and researchers, contributing to impactful projects that advance scientific understanding. This position is perfect for an experienced bioinformatician who excels in a remote setting and is passionate about leveraging computational power to solve complex biological problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS ) data.
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic and transcriptomic data to identify significant biological patterns and correlations.
  • Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate research questions into computational analyses.
  • Develop and maintain data management strategies and tools for large biological datasets.
  • Contribute to the creation of visualizations and reports to effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, in a remote setting.

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics, with a strong focus on analyzing omics data.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python and R.
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and biological pathways.
  • Experience with common bioinformatics tools, databases, and public repositories is essential.
