Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water supply, and wastewater systems.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various infrastructure developments.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies to assess project viability and identify potential challenges.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
• Manage project schedules and budgets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant legislation.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in the design and management of major road, bridge, or water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and HEC-RAS.
• Excellent understanding of South African building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing project teams.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
