Senior Commercial Lawyer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their legal department on a fully remote basis, serving clients across Mossel Bay and beyond. This role is critical for advising on a broad spectrum of commercial matters, including contract negotiation, corporate structuring, and regulatory compliance. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the company's legal interests and facilitating its business objectives through expert legal counsel. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including joint ventures, partnerships, and service level agreements.
• Provide strategic legal advice on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across various jurisdictions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide analysis on emerging legal trends impacting the business.
• Manage legal risks associated with commercial activities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with external counsel and manage legal aspects of key projects and transactions.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and corporate governance.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks relevant to the business sector.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Proven experience managing significant legal projects and advising senior management.
