Senior Cosmetic Formulation Chemist (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative and highly experienced Senior Cosmetic Formulation Chemist to join their fully remote research and development team. You will be instrumental in the creation and refinement of cutting-edge cosmetic products, from concept to commercialization. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical principles, raw material science, and regulatory compliance within the cosmetics industry. You will lead formulation projects, mentor junior chemists, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring groundbreaking beauty products to market, driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize new cosmetic formulations for skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics.
• Conduct stability, compatibility, and efficacy testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical solutions to manufacturing challenges.
• Stay abreast of scientific advancements, market trends, and regulatory changes in the cosmetics industry.
• Collaborate with marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Mentor and guide junior chemists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in cosmetic formulation chemistry.
• Extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functions, and safety profiles.
• Proven experience with various cosmetic product types and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of international cosmetic regulations (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
