Senior Financial Accountant - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Financial Accountant for a fully remote position, supporting operations nationwide. This leadership role will involve managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, and contributing to strategic financial planning. You will play a key part in enhancing financial processes and systems, working independently and collaborating virtually with teams across South Africa . The ideal candidate is adept at remote work, possesses exceptional accounting expertise, and demonstrates strong leadership potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and finalization of annual financial statements and interim reports.
• Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and new accounting pronouncements.
• Manage and mentor junior accounting staff remotely.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with all South African tax regulations, including VAT and Income Tax.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation required.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-articles experience in financial accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Proven experience with IFRS and complex financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in advanced accounting software and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects remotely.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills for a virtual environment.
