Senior Geologist - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to join their exploration team on a fully remote basis, serving projects across various regions. You will be responsible for interpreting geological data, identifying potential hydrocarbon-bearing formations, and contributing to the strategic planning of exploration activities. This role requires a deep understanding of subsurface geology, seismic interpretation, and basin analysis. Working remotely, you will collaborate with geoscientists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to assess prospectivity and de-risk exploration opportunities. Your expertise will be vital in guiding our client's exploration efforts and ensuring a robust pipeline of future projects, fostering innovation in geological assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret geological and geophysical data, including seismic, well logs, and core samples.
• Develop geological models and maps to delineate potential reservoirs and structural traps.
• Evaluate the prospectivity of new exploration areas and contribute to portfolio management.
• Collaborate with the exploration team to plan and execute geological field studies and data acquisition programs.
• Utilize geological software for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
• Provide geological input for drilling operations and reservoir performance analysis.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field.
• 10+ years of experience in exploration geology, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and GIS tools.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of technical report writing.
