Senior Geologist - Remote Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Geologist to join their innovative, remote-first mining operations team, supporting projects across various regions. This pivotal role involves leveraging advanced geological modeling and data analysis techniques to identify, evaluate, and guide the development of mineral resources. You will work independently and collaboratively with a distributed team of geologists, engineers, and data scientists, contributing essential insights to exploration and resource estimation efforts. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of geological principles, exceptional data interpretation skills, and the ability to thrive in a virtual work environment, driving critical decisions for our client's global mining portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geological mapping, core logging, and geochemical data analysis to delineate mineral deposits.

• Develop and refine 3D geological models using industry-standard software to estimate resource quantities and qualities.

• Interpret geophysical survey data and integrate it with geological information to identify high-potential exploration targets.

• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration strategies and mine planning.

• Mentor junior geologists and provide expert geological guidance to remote operational teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, preferably with exposure to base metals or precious metals .

• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan) and data analysis tools.

• Strong understanding of geochemical analysis, petrology, and structural geology.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage projects remotely.
