Senior Geoscientist - Seismic Interpretation (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Geoscientist with expertise in seismic interpretation to join their fully remote exploration team. This role is instrumental in identifying and characterizing subsurface hydrocarbon potential through the advanced analysis of seismic data. You will work independently and collaboratively with geologists and reservoir engineers across different time zones to support exploration strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation to identify geological structures, stratigraphic traps, and potential reservoirs.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Utilize advanced seismic attributes and interpretation techniques to assess prospectivity and reduce exploration risk.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and petrophysicists to validate interpretations and define drilling targets.
• Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and prospect maps for exploration management.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and contribute to the development of best practices in seismic interpretation within the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in seismic data interpretation, with a strong background in exploration geology.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, OpendTect).
• Demonstrated experience in the geological evaluation of exploration prospects in various basins.
• Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows and their impact on interpretation quality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented setting, supporting operations near Polokwane .
