About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their distributed team, working remotely to support projects across various regions, including those in Port Elizabeth . This senior role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and site investigation techniques to provide expert advice on complex ground engineering challenges. You will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical aspects of infrastructure and building projects from a remote capacity, ensuring safety, stability, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert geotechnical analysis and design recommendations for foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
• Oversee and interpret data from site investigations, including boreholes, CPTs, and laboratory testing.
• Develop and review detailed geotechnical reports for diverse projects.
• Offer technical support and guidance to project teams remotely.
• Conduct risk assessments related to geological hazards and ground conditions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong portfolio of diverse projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA.
• Expertise in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio suite).
• Proven ability to manage projects and provide remote technical consultation effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, adapted for remote collaboration.
